  • Because Pakistan was formerly ruled by the British, cars drive on the left side of the road here. 

  • Pakistan considered changing to driving on the right in the 1960's. According to www.i18nguy.com/index.html, "The main argument against the shift was that camel trains often drove through the night while their drivers dozed. The difficulty in teaching old camels new tricks was decisive in forcing Pakistan to reject the change."

  • Like Sri Lanka (also formerly ruled by the British), the most popular sport in Pakistan is cricket.

  • Apparently South Asia is a world filled with mangos.  After having experienced mango-flavored Kellogg’s Corn Flakes in Sri Lanka, here in Pakistan we can get mango ice cream, mango deserts... you name it.  Funny, though -- we have yet to see an actual mango in Pakistan. 

  • When asking someone their name, what you say is "What is your good name?"  There's something wonderful about immediately recognizing someone's name as good.
